This thing screams quality, durability, and versatility from top to bottom. If it were stamped "Made in America"/"...Germany"/"...Japan", it would be at least ten times the money (one is tempted to assume that it's made in China - there seems to be no information on country of manufacture - but heavy-duty tripods and heads seem to be among the few things that the Chinese have learned to make almost as well as topnotch American, European, and Japanese manufacturers). The only downside, if you can call it that, is the weight...but if you're like me, you'd rather have a super-solid base that weighs a few pounds more than a lightweight easy-to-carry weakling that will shake, rattle, and buckle on you when the going gets rough. After all, good cameras cost a lot more than tripods, and a rickety tripod can defeat the entire purpose of using one. If... I shopped around for a tripod for a couple weeks, checking local stores, online shops, etc. But every tripod in my price range was either cheaply made, or just 'felt' cheap. The aluminum tripods were all so light and weak feeling I was worried they would tip with my beast of a camera on them. So, after hours and hours of researching, I ended up ordering this Ravelli. And I have to say I am absolutely 100% satisfied with it. The construction is solid. VERY solid. When I put my camera (a Nikon D3000 w/55-200mm lens, beefy battery pack, etc) I do not worry about it tipping over or failing under the weight. The tripod was delivered very quick (in about 3 days) and was ready to go (once I put the handles on). One thing I did not expect was the weight. This thing is a beast!! But that is okay, as I said before, I feel safe putting my camera on it. (But it is probably too heavy to be... I was a bit concerned at doing this, but I took a chance. This is my first tripod and I am very pleased so far. I have a Canon Rebel XSi with a Canon EF-S 55-250mm lens, so I was concerned with sturdiness. I really did not want to spend 100s of dollars on a name brand tripod, because it just was not feasible for me, but again I wanted something that I felt could hold the gear that I have. With shipping the price was $55 and some change and for the price I think it is very good. It definitely has some weight to it, it is not what you get for $20 at BestBuy or Wal-Mart this appears solid. The carrying case is nice to have, there is nothing overly appealing about it looks wise, but it does hold the tripod and the 3 grips. It is roughly 30 inches long and 5 inches wide when it is in store mode. It stands 56 inches tall when all the legs are extended out (note; this is when the legs are locked...
